My Subversions series is about memory—exploring what water does to freshly pressed ink. I let the water move where it wants to, guiding it along its journey by holding the paper like one of those old handheld labyrinths I played with as a kid. As the water drags ink along its path of least resistance, something new is born. Memory is likewise shaped and guided by the stories we tell, bounded by experience, grounded by connection.
